Gertie
Gertie was abandoned by her owners at a construction site, where she had been seen hanging around for a few weeks, eating rocks to survive. A good samaritan picked her up and took her in. They took her to a vet, but no microchip meant they couldn't find the owners. She was covered in wounds and fleas as well as massive mammary growths.
Her finders tried to find placement for her but hit roadblocks until they contacted Charlotte Cocker Rescue. CCR spent over $2,600 on her medical needs while she was in their care. Canine Community Outreach covered the spay portion ($250) of her medical bills.
Gertie was adopted by a family in NC, where she enjoys the comforts of life she has always deserved.
